VAUXHALL Motors play their final Blue Square North fixture at Rivacre Park this Saturday in front of their biggest gate of the season - they entertain play-off hopefuls Southport, who are certain to bring a huge following. The game kicks off at 3pm.

The Sandgrounders began the final week of the league season just outside the play-off places but with a midweek game in hand on their rivals. Either way, nothing other than a victory at Rivacre Park, over the already relegated Motormen is likely to be good enough to cement their play-off hopes.

Indeed, it is Motors final match in the competition, at least for another season. Their relegation was confirmed 10 days ago, but Carl Macauley is encouraging his squad to show him exactly what they are made of, as he plans an assault on the Unibond Premier Division come August.

Last Saturday, an injury-ravaged Motors went down 1-0 at home to Hinckley United, a result that confirms the visitors status in the division for another season at the expense of Hucknall Town, who join Vauxhall and Leigh RMI in the relegation spots.
