VAUXHALL Motors FC are back in action on Thursday night as they travel to Anfield Sports and Community Centre in the hope of building on their successful start to the season, following a 2-0 win at home to Kendal Town.

Gary Moore is manager of the Reds who opened their campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory away at FC Isle of Man and the club is very close to the Moore family as it was Gary’s wife that started it.

MJ Monaghan netted the only goal against IOM inside the first half after he slalomed past the hosts defence, but it was Joe Holt that was awarded Star player.

Last season Lower Breck finished 19th, two positions away from the rock bottom of 21st, thus they will be hoping to add to their opening victory with another making the midweek encounter with Motors a cagey affair.

The club's last three honours in the past four years include being the I-Zingari Cup Winners in 2018 before being promoted to the North West Counties the following summer.

A further promotion came two years later when they reached the North West Counties Premier Division.

However, arguably their biggest achievement was growing from one playing side to five for the 2015/16 season as the club places a great focus on establishing a youthful bunch of quality, committed players capable of challenging for honours in the years to come.

Motors will be making the short trip over to Anfield in good spirits following their win and there are no reports of any injuries from their opening game thus a strong squad will be at the manager’s disposal.

Ticket details can be found on Lower Breck’s official club website and Twitter feed, all support for Mick McGraa’s side is appreciated thus your attendance will be greatly appreciated on what should be a fine night in Liverpool.
