WALLASEY continued their dominance at the top of the Liverpool Competition’s Premier Division with a win at Newton le Willows.

A rain delayed start encouraged the visitors to score quickly and they raced to 190-5 off just 25.4 overs with half centuries for Daniel Beaver (61) and Chris Davies (72). Sumit Ruikar then claimed 7-64 - his 12th five-wicket haul in 14 games - as the leaders wrapped up a 36 run victory.

New Brighton occupy one of the relegation spots after losing at home to Ormskirk. David While (5-46) and Elliot Griffiths (3-54) restricted the West Lancs outfit to 200-9 declared but the hosts were dismissed for 139 with only Sebastian Botes (51) showing much resistance.

Birkenhead Park claimed a vital win at Orrell Red Triangle after Alex Harris (4-36), Ahmad Safi Abdullah (3-16) and Alex Baker (3-38) combined to bowl out the home side for 101. Park made hard work of the chase but eventually sealed victory by four wickets.

Caldy slipped into the Division One relegation zone after a miserable batting display against Northop Hall which saw them dismissed for just 75 by the Welshmen who went on to claim a seven wicket win.

It’s 13 consecutive defeats now for Parkfield Liscard at the bottom of Division Two after they were bowled out for 104 by Sutton who wrapped up a seven wicket victory in the 24th over.

In Division One of the Cheshire Cricket League, Dominic Develing took 4-34 as Wirral dismissed Wilmslow for 121 before David Lewis struck 53 as the hosts picked up a four wicket win.

Casey Saley-Elliott hit 51 for Irby in their Division Two clash at Wistaston as they made 155-8 off their 45 overs. Ben Wilson took 3-40 before the hosts sealed a five wicket victory.

Burton smashed 383-4 against Offerton with Alex Hind (144no) and Ian Corner (115) starring in a 145 run win.
