TRANMERE striker Kane Hemmings has warned it could take time for Rovers’ squad to adapt to a new style of play as the countdown towards the start of the League Two season continued.
Hemmings is looking to hit the ground running when Rovers face Stevenage on July 30 and with two goals in pre-season he is looking in decent nick.
“I always want to score goals and I always want to be involved in a game’s attacking play,” he said. “It’s nice to get into good habits early doors and I’m pleased with the week I’ve had and pleased to get the minutes under my belt.
“I’m one of the senior boys now and I’m still plodding along but they were good works out this week.
“People are still getting to know each other and it’s a new system and new way of playing this season so it takes a little time to get used to it but as long as we keep sticking at it and doing what the manager and coaching staff want us to do I think we’ll be OK.”
Hemmings added that he is looking forward to seeing the progress of Rovers teenage striker Sam Taylor.
“I think he has been superb,” he added. “He is only young but he’s done really well and I’m very impressed with him. I think he’s got a big future.”
