TRANMERE Rovers have confirmed the signing of Kyle Jameson on a one year contract.

The defender has been training with the club during pre-season and has penned a contract at Prenton Park after impressing during that time.

Jameson started his career at Southport before attracting interest from teams in the Premier League and eventually signing for Chelsea in 2017.  He then moved on to West Brom where he gained valuable experience at Barrow on loan.

The 23-year-old joins Rovers after spells with AFC Fylde and Oldham Athletic and will join up with Micky Mellon’s men for the 2022/23 season.

Mellon said: “Kyle has been with us for a few weeks now and has shown us what qualities he can add to the group to compliment what we already have.

“We’re looking forward to working with Kyle and helping him to keep developing and playing a part in helping us to keep moving forward.”

Director of football, James Vaughan, said: “We’re really excited to work with Kyle and helping him develop with us.  He has shown the willingness to work hard and improve.

“He’s a good age, has encouraging attributes and fits the model of players we want to develop at the club.”
