NESTON’S bowlers suffered a miserable day as they lost by eight wickets to Chester Boughton Hall in the Cheshire County Premier League.

Rowan Shelton top scored with an unbeaten 58 as the hosts made 191-9 off their 55 overs but the visitors reached the target thanks to an 128 opening partnership as they sealed an easy victory.

Oulton Park amassed 231-4 against Oxton who could only reach 161-8 in reply despite 87 from opener Henry Dobson in a drawn game.

In Division Two, Luca Di Stefano (51) top scored as Upton made 184-9 against Christleton before David Williams (5-35) wrapped up a 35-run win.

An unbeaten 97 from skipper Simon Melberzs took Port Sunlight to 198-8 in their clash with Stockport Georgians. Steve Graham (4-23) and Matin Naylor (3-42) couldn’t quite get their side over the line as the visitors finished on 173-9 in a drawn match.

Maritime are second in Division Three after a draw with Kinglsey in which they made 237-6 thanks to Vensakar Kanthiraj’s unbeaten 83 before Hakeem Rauf took 5-15 as Kinglsey replied with 170-8.
