TRANMERE Rovers have confirmed the signings of three young players ahead of the new League Two campaign.

Rhys Hughes, Ryan Stratulis and Jack Williams have all signed contracts at Prenton Park as Rovers continue their preparations for the new season following the disappointment of missing out on promotion earlier this year.

Hughes, 20, signs for Rovers after featuring regularly for Everton U23s in the Premier League 2 last season where he chipped in with five goals and two assists in 22 games.

Having graduated from the U18s at Everton and regularly captaining the side, the midfielder is a regular in the Wales U21 team and signs a two year deal at Prenton Park.

Stratulis has risen through the ranks at Prenton Park, becoming an instrumental figure in the U18s team before signing his first professional contract last summer.

The versatile midfielder made a first team appearance in a Papa Johns Trophy victory against Oldham at Prenton Park where he registered himself an assist in the first half with a pinpoint cross from the right.

The 19-year-old also spent some time on loan at Marine who went on to win promotion from the Northern Premier League West Division.

Williams arrives having completed his scholarship with Oldham Athletic and the 19-year-old now joins Rovers for the upcoming 2022/23 season.

He had previously been selected as part of England’s U15s Talent selection event and most noticeably notched over 30 goals from midfield at his age group in that season.

He was involved in Oldham’s first team matchday squad from as young as 15 in the FA Cup and would have become one of the youngest players in the history of the competition.

His progression attracted interest from Premier League and European clubs before he suffered an unfortunate injury which he is now fully recovered from as he starts a new chapter at Rovers for the upcoming season.
