TRANMERE Rovers have announced that Kieron Morris has signed a two year contract at Prenton Park with an option for a further year.

The midfielder has been in Wirral since 2019 when he helped Rovers to win promotion from League Two and he will extend his stay until at least the summer of 2024.

Last season he contributed five goals and four assists from midfield and was an important figure in the Rovers’ attack.

After signing the new contract, Kieron said: “I’m over the moon to have got it all sorted and that I’m staying at Rovers.

“I’ve always enjoyed my time here and playing in front of such supportive fans so I’m delighted.

“This club has a lot of potential, the facilities we use everyday are top quality and the size of the fan base for this division is always a deciding factor.

“We didn’t reach the goal we wanted to last season but I’m determined that I can help and be part of a team to go even further next season and get to where we want to be.”

Manager Micky Mellon added: “I’m really pleased that Kieron will be staying with us for the next two seasons.

“He’s a player that we all know very well from his time here already and we know what qualities he brings to the group.

“We rate Kieron highly and we always want to keep hold of players who we think are going to keep moving us forwards so I’m glad we’ve been able to do that.”
