A model of consistency throughout the season, South Wirral outfit Sutton Athletic lifted the MSC Express West Cheshire League's Division Three title.

Efforts from Tom McGill, Shaun Weaver and Tom Rourke secured a 3-2 victory over local rivals, Heswall Res, who had Dan O'Halloran and Tyler Wilkinson in reply.

Nearest rivals Bootle Res cranked up their promotion bid, as a result of 4-0 eclipse of Runcorn Town Res, with Joel Ray, Jack Hughes, Joe Carroll and Matt Corness on target.

Despite a goal from Phil Quilliam, Capenhurst Villa Res suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of South Liverpool Thirds, Joe Collins and Lewis Manley obliging for the winners.

Top scorers were Chester Nomads Res, who posted a 6-1 win at Mersey Harps with Chris Barnes (2), Sandro Malletta, Cam Clark and Mike Jeffs finding the net.

Division One leaders, Ashville, consolidated their position at the top, and drew five points clear, thanks to a 2-0 triumph over Rainhill Town.

Gary Jones and Peter Morgan were the marksmen while unbeaten Bootle St Edmunds took closer order, and drew level on points with second-placed challengers, Mersey Royal. A Mark Madden strike clinched all three points from their midweek trip to Vauxhall Motors Res.

A double from Liam Smith was supplemented by further efforts from Paul Carney, James Burns and Jackson Ellis as Newton returned to winning ways after they beat Marshalls 5-4. Josh Lavender (2), Jacob Till and Harvey Till netted the visitors' consolations.

A goal from Brandon Dickinson proved scant reward for Chester Nomads, who went down 3-1 at home to replies from Mossley Hill Ath's Lewis Johnson, James Farr and Nathan Peet but it was celebration time for Capenhurst Villa, who had Danny Page (3), Steve Rowlands, Jamie Easton and Dom Hoppe on the mark in a 6-2 triumph at neighbours Ellesmere Port Town.

Division Two pacesetters Marine U23s increased their advantage at the top to fourteen points after edging a 4-3 decision over Cheshire Lines, with Darren Brannigan, Tom Beckett, Will Edwards and Jack Murphy on the scoresheet. Fourth-placed Mallaby stayed in the promotion equation, after a Tom Black header secured a 1-0 result at Maghull Res.

Sean Parrington and Ben Kearney netted for Poulton Vics in a 2-0 in win against a South Sefton Borough 2-0 and West Kirby were indebted to efforts from Sam Haley, James Harris and Josh Ross for Saturday's 3-2 victory at Rainford Utd.

Goals from Adam King and Neil McCarthy steered Mossley Hill Ath Res to a 2-1 win against Runcorn Sports. Will Goodison netted for Marshalls Res, but it was visitors Ashville Res who profited via a 2-1 scoreline.

Saturday's Youth Division action saw Mossley Hill record a 4-3 win over Maghull, with efforts from Jonathan Liddle(2) Asher Duncan and Chris Hapi-Fankum .

The visitors scored through Jack Lemmens (2) and Carlos Velasco. Poulton Vics had Joe Emery on target, but capitulated 2-1 to a double from City of Liverpool's Ethan Wetton.

Extra-time failed to separate South Liverpool and Mossley Hill Ath in a keenly-contested Youth Plate semi-final.

Respective marksmen in the 5-5 stalemate were Tom Evans (2), Charlie Gresham, Lucas Rogers and McKenzie Hilton for South, with Liam Blundell (2), Alfie Saunders, Bryn Carter and Alfie McLeod replying for the visitors. South then triumphed 8-7 on spot kicks.
