The weekend’s stormy weather caused many games to be postponed but an excellent fixture in the Wallasey Sunday League Second Division saw Park Royal push the One O’Clock Gun all the way in a seven-goal thriller as the unbeaten Gun closed the gap at the top of the division and also have games in hand.
In a game that ebbed and flowed, Gun always held the advantage as goals from Wayne Gibbons, Morgan Galer and Chris Reilly kept them ahead even though Tom Saunders, Will Sass and Josh Davies netted for Royal to keep the game a contest, but a goal in the final minutes from James Edwards sealed the 4-3 victory for the Gun as they moved into the top three.
North West Harriers ran out 3-1 winners over Wallasey Wolves courtesy of a brace of goals from Connor Reeves and a single from George Redfern as they moved three points clear of their opponents in an evenly matched contest. Hitting the lone response was Greg Williams.
