PLCCFC triumphed in the Cheshire Sunday Cup 2nd round as they ran out 6-1 winners over SJ Bailey in a fine team effort.

Tom Hughes, Josh Eastwood, Danny Morning and Patrick Carpenter bagged a goal apiece, with two own goals completing the scoring.

Not so fortunate were JASGA FC who went down 2-1 versus George & Dragon despite Paul Howell netting an equaliser in the first half. Also eliminated were Shore Villa when losing 4-1 away at Organ Athletic ‘A’.

A vintage performance from Vineyard saw them climb into second place on goal difference in the Wallasey Sunday League First Division, as they overcame a battling Bromborough Town 2-0, with first half goals from Ryan Slater and Macauley Lewis who profited from defensive errors.

Vale Athletic leapfrogged above Wallasey Wanderers when beating them 4-0 due to a double strike from Matty Madden and singles from Dean Wylde and Lewis McBurney.

Action from the Second Division saw Park Royal roar past Ellesmere Port Red Lions in a 5-0 victory thanks to a double salvo from Jordan Major and singles from Jack Marshall, Andy Spearing and Kian Povey in a good team effort.

Elsewhere, Oxton Celtic beat Shore Villa Athletic 3-0 thanks to Tim Hughes netting a fine hat-trick.

In the Wirral DFA Junior cup 2nd round, a single effort from Alex McDowell was not enough for North West Harriers as then went down 3-1.

Trident received a walk over versus AC Hoylake U18s and Wallasey Wolves lost 2-4 versus West Kirby United, as Tom Chew and Ewan Sait found the net.

The only victors were One o’clock Gun who eased home 7-2 against AFC Park North.
