And they are into the semifinals following their 4-2 eclipse of South Wirral neighbours, Vauxhall Motors Res.

Abou Sansary struck twice and was joined on the score sheet by Omar Arsalane and Tom Killilea, as the Port celebrated a fine win and claimed local bragging rights. Joe Caswell obliged with both goals for the Motormen.

Also through, are unbeaten Division One leaders, Mersey Royal, who were indebted to a solitary strike from Adam Smith which curtailed Ashville’s interests.

Heswall’s reserve side also had a day to savour, in the Wirral DFA Amateur Cup 2nd round, when doubles from Jamie Steele and Dan O’Halloran allied to an effort from Callum Walsh anchored their side to a 5-2 victory over Neston Nomads Res.

Jamie Wood, Corey Scarisbrick, Joel Campbell, Sam Jones and an own goal were enough, as Ashville Res. accounted for Willaston 5-1 with Sean Hayward on target for the hosts.

Elsewhere, a four goal salvo from Matty Hickman and a James McKinnon strike inspired Capenhurst Villa Res. to a 5-1 result over Shaftesbury Youth Club Res.

On the domestic scene, the Division One clash between Chester Nomads and Newton saw honours shared following a 3-3 finish.

Goals from Nomads’ Zak Hall (2) and Joe Melia were nullified by replies from the visitors’ Joel Burns, Paul Williams and Ben Hamlet.

Helsby boosted their chances of promotion from Division Two, and climbed to fourth place in the table when Lee Turkington (3). Lee Guiardo (2). Rob Hughes, Ryan Cunningham, Johm Egerton and Jordan Cunningham all netted in Saturday’s 9-0 blitz of Rainhill Town Res.

Despite a goal from Joe Connor, Maghull Res. capitulated 3-1 at home to replies from Poulton Vics.’ Ian Fitzsimmons, Tyler Sutton and Danny Murphy, while Harvey Till, Lewis Elwood and Will Goddison bagged agoal apiece, as Marshalls Res. savoured a 3-2 result over Mossley Hill Ath. Res.

Bootle Res. maintained their three point advantage at the top of Division Three, after Cam Grant and Jack Hughes scored in a 2-0 decision over Poulton Royal.

South Wirral challengers, Sutton Ath. stayed in contention - Connor Doyle, Joe Whittle and Callum Doyle finding the net in a 3-1 triumph at Runcorn Sports Res.

Liam Edge plundered both goals as Chester Nomads Res. triumphed 2-0 at Poulton Vics Res. and George Patchcett followed suit with a brace for Groves who edged a 3-2 win over Aintree Villa Res. Liam Smith scored Groves’ third from the spot.

Saturday’s Youth Division action saw unbeaten leaders, Vauxhall Motors, make it maximum returns from their first four outings, Sam Griffiths plundering the game’s only goal to deny City of Lverpool Partisans.

While second placed Victoria Colts remained in the leaders’ slip stream, after beating Runcorn Linnets Yellow 3-1 with goals from Rocco Ceraolo, Charlie Harland and Rory Alldis.
