An excellent fixture in the Wallasey Sunday League Second Division saw One O’clock Gun inflict a first defeat on Trident, as they shot them down in a 3-2 victory and move into second place.

Trident led with a goal from Dean Trevitt, but Connor Griffiths and Nathan Johnson put Gun ahead before Tyler Ward levelled matters, but a late winner from Leyton Clarke gave the Gun the points.

Top of the table still are Shore Villa after overwhelming Wallasey Wolves 12-1. Blagoy Rodov and Jamie Smith both netted trebles and Harry Brassey, Connor Hallwood and Aaron Bird each scored a brace of goals to maintain their unbeaten start, with Ewan Sait claiming the lone response.

It was away day in the Mike O’Sullivan Garages First Division as all three away teams recorded victories and saw Vineyard climb up to fourth following their battling 2-1 success over Wallasey Wanderers.

Kyle Sloan and Ben Hawitt gave them a 2-0 half time lead, but Wanderers hit back with a penalty goal from Danny Hardman in the second half but Vineyard took the spoils.

A Jack Cooke hat-trick earned Bromborough Town their first victory, as they stumped PLCC FC 3-0 in a great team effort and Eastham Rangers also recorded their first win when beating Liscard Panthers 3-1, with goals from Sean Williams, Louis Hopkins and a penalty from Jordan Crowder, as they came from 0-1 down after Dale Crawford had opened the scoring from the spot.

Sheridans FC defeated fellow leaguers Eastham Rangers Colts 2-0 in the Wirral District FA Amateur cup as Leon Jones and Connah Bagley found the net in an even encounter.

But there was no good news from the Wirral District FA Junior cup, as all Wallasey League teams were eliminated.
