Tranmere Rovers have bolstered their attacking options for the new season with the  double signing of winger Callum McManaman and striker Elliott Nevitt.

The attacking duo have both put pen to paper on one-year contracts at Prenton Park.

McManaman, who has been most recently plying his trade at Melbourne Victory, is an FA Cup winner with Wigan Athletic, and has represented the Tics and West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League.

Striker Nevitt, who has been linked with a number of EFL clubs, joins Tranmere after a prolific spell in front of goal at his former club, Warrington Rylands, and recently netted a hat trick for the Blues at Wembley in the FA Trophy.

Speaking first about McManaman, Micky Mellon said: “We have worked very hard to sign Callum and it has been a long pursuit. He has wanted to come here right from the start but it is not as easy as that to make it happen, we have had to do all of the necessaries to make sure the move happened.

“To get the type of quality that Callum possess into the building shows the intent of the football club and where we want to be. I am sure the fans will be excited by this signing and they will be looking forward to watching him play for Tranmere.”

Regarding Nevitt, Mellon said: “Elliott is a signing that I want everybody to understand, since I was a player at Tranmere, we have always been very good at finding local talent that we were able to polish up, add fitness and present them with the opportunity to be a professional footballer.

“Elliott deserves his opportunity. We have seen his guts, determination and he has trained well since he came in. He is at a different stage of his career compared to Callum but Tranmere has always been good at finding and nurturing local non-league talent from Merseyside in order to give them an opportunity, which is something I love to do. We are going to work very hard with Elliott.”
