Semi-final action from the Wallasey Sunday League Magee and Dutchman cups saw some very tight games that have produced two intriguing finals that will take place over the next two weeks.

Bromborough Town fought out a terrific goalless encounter versus Vineyard in the Magee Cup but took the tie in a penalty shoot-out with a 5-4 success rate.

Rockpoint FC batted aside the challenge of PLCCFC when running out 5-2 winners thanks to a brace from Stuart Hardman and singles from Kyle Bennett, Anthony Gardner and Paul Williams, as Sonny Sword and George Craven bagged the replies in a battling performance.

In the Dutchman Cup a goal three minutes from full time earned Vale Athletic a late 1-0 victory over Shore Villa in a game that could have gone either way as both sides looked to reach the final.

Wallasey Wanderers were grateful of two late goals from Mike Madden and Connor Jackson to secure their final place as they overcame a gallant Eastham Rangers Colts with a 2-1 success, as Mike Cavanagh ensured a nerve tingling finish to a great game with the only reply.

Only one league fixture took place and that was in the Mike O’Sullivan Garages Third Division and saw Vittoria Vaults take the spoils with a 4-2 win over Oxton Celtic.

Leon Jones netted three times and Anton Jolley once for the Vaults, with the replies coming from a Harry Sutton double in a very even affair.
