Leaders Upton JFC went down 4-1 to Groves Athletic despite opening up the scoring with a Paul Johnson effort. George Patchett lead the fight back for the Groves scoring a hattrick with Liam Smith adding a fourth from the spot.

St Saviours suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the resurgent Shaftesbury Youth who had Lee Griffiths (2) and Danny Smith on the scoresheet. Shafts now sit in fourth, five points from the top with a game in hand on St Saviours and Unitor.

Unitor were held to a 1-1 draw in their game with the improving Higher Bebington Kelma. Derek Taylor was the Unitor scorer with Andy Blakeborough scoring for Kelma.

That was Kelma’s fourth draw of the season; if they could just convert these into wins they would now be sitting second! Ellesmere Port put 3 welcome points on their record after a 2-1 win over Blacon Youth Reserves. Goals from Matt Crowe and Danny Hale secured their win with Sam Burgess replying for Blacon.

Cestrian Alex and Hoole Rangers fought out a 3-3 draw in their CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship A encounter. Matt Gilmour (2) and Elliot Davies were the Alex marksmen with Connor Howley, Callum Jones and Aaron Eymond hitting home for Rangers.

Owen Ainscough got the only goal of the game for Shaftesbury Youth Reserves in their 1-0 win over Princes Villa.

Things are hotting up in the CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship B with only two points separating the top three teams.

Overnight leaders FC Duddon Utd met second place Waggon but neither side could muster the win as the game ended 1-1.

Ellis Moore had put the Waggon in front but a late equaliser from Tom Evans gave the home side a point.

The 100% Black Horse took full advantage of this and moved into top place after a 5-1 away win over Chester Nomads IV’s thanks to goals from Jamie Hurworth, Chris Davies (2), Kynan Mason and Gordon Harrison.

Winsford Saxons are still in with a shout sitting in fourth and in a rich vein of form. They recorded a 9-0 win over the brave Poulton Vics side with goals coming from Sam Fallows (4), Callum Herbert (3), Dylan Williams and Tom Daly.

Fifth-placed Runcorn Sports are looking to crash the party and displayed their ambition with a resounding 8-0 win over Neston Nomads Development.

Jack Harper lead the scoring with five followed by Mike Jackson, Matty Hayes and Aaron Pickavant. Tom Astill and Dan Nixon both scored for Orange Athletic in their 3-2 loss against Rossmore Rangers.

Upton JFC Vets kept their 100% record in the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 2 with a fine 3-2 win over Ashton Vets, Chris Melia lead the scoring with a brace with Ben Walley adding a third.

Second placed Tarvin Athletic Vets beat Dee Rangers Vets 7-0 while Nags Head Bunbury Vets and Frodsham Park JFC Vets ended in a 1-1 draw. Henry Buckley was the Nags Head scorer.

In the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 3 Third placed FC Vaults beat Crossway Vets 4-3 and Great Sutton Vets went down 5-1 to Winsford Diamond Vets, who had Matty Walmsley, Ricky Billinge, Michael Warburton (2) and Dave Garstang to thank for their goals.
