It was a perfect start for new manager Keith Hill, who picked up where interim boss Ian Dawes left off to make it four league wins on the bounce for the Whites, and six games unbeaten in all competitions since Mike Jackson was sacked after a home defeat to Morecambe.
Corey Blackett-Taylor scored the only goal of the game with a superb individual effort but Rovers' overall performance caught the eye in what was a tough encounter.
Globe photographer Phil Bryan was pitchside on the night. Here's a selection of his shots, capturing the best of the action.
