TRANMERE Rovers midfielder Danny Walker-Rice has signed a new one year contract at the club.

The midfielder, who has been at the club since the age of seven, becomes the fifth player this summer to put pen to paper on a deal for next season.

Walker-Rice, now aged 19, signed his first professional deal at Prenton Park in 2019 and has made first team appearances in the EFL Trophy.

Danny said he was delighted to be staying with Rovers, adding: "I'm really happy to get it done.

"I've been here since I was seven so it was a no brainer for me.

"I found out last year that it is a big step from youth football to first team football but I’ve loved every minute of it and feel like I’ve adapted well."

Having already had a taste of first team action, Danny is keen to get more games under his belt next season.

“My target is to get as fit as I can and hopefully get a few chances to prove myself.

“Obviously I know the new manager already and he gives everything he can as a coach and manager so I’m really looking forward to working with him”
