FIVE goals in two games has once again put Vauxhall hot-shot Paul Taylor in the shop window, as the Motormen recorded their first victories under new boss Andy Mutch.

First they clinched a Unibond Cheshire Senior Cup semi-final place by defeating Stalybidge Celtic away before engineering a stunning comeback from 2-0 down at home to Solihull Moors in the Blue Square North to register back-to-back 3-2 successes.

At Celtic in midweek, the Motormen always held the upper hand in an entertaining cup-tie in which Taylor scored all three Vauxhall goals.

They now meet Altrincham away in the last four in the New Year, but on Saturday afternoon at Rivacre Park Vauxhall were 2-0 behind at the break to a lively Solihull side.

Taylor struck the crossbar in the first-half, set up the first goal for Tom Field on 51 minutes and then scored twice more himself, as well as hitting an upright as Motors secured a worthy victory to lift themselves up to 16th spot in the table.

This Saturday, the Motormen play host to Hyde United in an FA Trophy tie at Rivacre Park (kick-off 3pm).
