Sad news befell the league this week as long-standing supporter and ex player Billy (Simo) Simpson passed away. Simo played for the Dale Inn and Bird in Hand during his time in the league and was also involved with Saturday football for Ashville and Poulton Vics.

Simo always had a story or joke to tell you and enjoyed providing an input from the side lines when watching. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time and we offer our condolences to them all.

Yet again the stormy weather caused many cancellations with the WB Council closing all the flooded grounds, but two games did take place on 3G surfaces to help relieve the ever-increasing backlog of fixtures.

The delayed Dutchman Cup 1st round fixture took place at Pensby High School and saw West Kirby United progress into round two as they beat Wallasey Wolves in an end-to-end encounter with a 3-2 success. This despite Matty Madden and James McAlinden bagging good goals for the Wolves, but a brace from Josh Duncan and a single from Josh Sutton secured the victory.

The only game in the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division saw leaders take on promotion hopeful Eastham Rangers Colts at Vauxhalls and ran out 3-1 winners after a half-time score of 1-1. Josh Hatton bagged another double and Bradley Brady notched his first of the season as Rockpoint FC increased their lead at the top and remain the only unbeaten team in the entire league.
