A GIANT-killing act took place in The Wirral District Football Association Sunday Premier Cup semi final Division One side Beechwood FC knocked out Premier Division Club Great Float Sports & Social 4-1 on penalties after the game finished 1-1.

On the scoresheet for Beechwood was Mitch Duggan with a 30-yard screamer.

Higher Bebington JFC shot down Trident in The Wirral District Football Association Sunday Junior 4-2 on penalties after both sides ended 2-2 at the end of the regulatory time.

On the mark for Hr Bebington JFC were Joel Whalley and Seb Trowler.

Domestic cup action saw Bushell Grange Athletic (Karl Aspinall, Jamie Quinn, Andy Cook, Kyle Jameson) make progress in the The Tony Houlihan League Memorial Challenge Cup to round Four with a comfortable win over Upton Town. 

Two mid-table teams from the Premier Division clashed in the Veronica Conway Cup.

Heygarth FC had Chris Lea and Carl Boyd to thank after notching a place in the semi-final with a narrow 2-1 over Lancelyn Glenavon who replied through Joey Downey.

Corsair FC saw off the challenge of Telegraph FC 2-0 in the Presidents Cup and put their name in the hat for round two.

David Williams, Iain Colligan with a brace and Steve Prance found the net for FC Tranmere in the Tony Smith Memorial Cup Round one at Oval FC (John Skipsey).

They will be joined in the draw for the Semi Finals with Eagle Stirrup who beat Wirral FC 2-0.

Neston United (Nick Jones, Liam Jeacock, Lee Exell, Brett Fitzsimmons) had a fine 4-0 success over MSC Eastham in the Jimmy Core cup first round tie, Silva Athletic had a superb 4-2 win over Glenavon Athletic (Alex Perry, Phil Bryan) who also make progress.

A superb six-man move and finished by Ryan Plevan with a superb headed goal for AFC Shaftes who registered their first points of the season in their local derby match 1-0 with Shaftesbury Youth after a 4-1 reversal last week.

More action from Division One saw Lions FC (Dave McElroy, Matty Kerr) trade goals 2-2 with Rivacre FC and both clubs drawing their first league game.

Queens Park strolled to a 3-0 win over basement club Rock Ferry Social in the Premier Division thanks to efforts from Kevin Oates, Liam Driscoll and Stewart Jackson.

Victoria Colts (Ryan Coles 3, Gaz Dickenson 2, Josh Ross, Kyle Sallis, Ryan Prescott) had a resounding 8-0 romp at AFC Tima in Division Three while Wellington FC (Lewis Gouldbourne, Luke Gallagher 2, Connor Morris) accounted for Eastham Rangers Jets 4-1.
