FOLLOWING a 2-1 win at Redgate Rovers, unbeaten West Cheshire League Division One leaders, South Liverpool, inspired by a Mason Nevitt hat trick, secured a 3-2 victory over Ellesmere Port Town, and as a result, extended their lead at the top to twelve points.

A Richie McQuade double was the Port's contribution.

Of the chasing pack, fourth-placed Chester Nomads, thanks to efforts from Jack Delgado, Marco Apollonio, Charlie Mann, Ryan Wan and an own goal, were too good on the day for fifth-placed Marshalls and posted a 5-0 result while Newton, via Jack Leamey, Chris Sheppard and an own goal,won 3-0 at Capenhurst Villa.

Respective scorers in Ashville's 3-3 stalemate with Upton AA were Lewy Moynes, Lee Davey, James Clare, Nathan Mapletoft, Josh Clayton and JohnEgerton.

Joel Richardson (2), Elliot Toner, Sam Lawrenson and John Holmes all found the net as Maghull beat Neston Nomads 5-0.

Division Two leaders, Prescot Cables Reserves opened up a four-point lead at the top when Brad Parry (2), Josh Perry, John Morgan and Josh Donnelly shared the goals in Saturday's 5-2 success at Litherland Remyca Dev.who had Taylor Williams and James McAuley in reply.

Danny Dixon was a two-goal star who shone for West Kirby in their 4-1 eclipse of Poulton Royal and Heswall's promotion push was bolstserd after they beat Rainhill Town Reserves 2-0 with Kieran Hughes and Joe Ford on the mark.

In a tight game at the Wirral Tennis Centre, hosts Mallaby fell prey to a goal a minute before and a minute after half-time from Maghull Res' Kevin McCormack and Mike Cummins.

Fourth-placed Mersey Royal lost fior the second week running, this time at the hands of South Sefton Borough, who had Mark Barnes and Alex McNab on target in a 2-0 triumph.

Honours wre shared after Cheshire Lines and Ashville Reserves finished 0-0.

Saturday's Division Three action saw second placed Marine Res. record their twelfth win of the season, Ben Short and Zak El Beshri obliging in a 2-1 win at Willaston, who hit back through Kieron Button-Forshaw.

A goal from Marshalls Res' Josh Lavender was negated by a reply from Heswall Res Greg Saunders and in another 1-1 draw, an effort from Pensby FC's Dan O'Halloran was cancelled out by an equaliser from Chester Nomads Res' Mike Jeffs.

Salam Djabi (2) was joined on the scoresheet by Josh Ilesamni and Steve Rothwell as Bootle Res savoured a 4-2 win against Capenhurst Villa Res. 

On the District scene, Division Three minnows Poulton Vics saw their progression to the Wirral Distrct Senior Cup final scuppered by Division One title challengers, Vauxhall Motors Res, who earned their passage to the final courtesy of a solitary effort from Dean Nunn.

In the LCFA Junior Cup quarter finals, it was celebration time for Division Three leaders Bootle St Edmunds who romped home 5-0 at Eagle Sports Res, with goals from Mark Men (3), Connor Harland and Mike Wilson.

They are joined in the last four by South Liverpool Res, Sharif Yusuf (2), Kalif Kura, Ciaran Fitzsimmons and Mike Speed hitting the target in a 5-1 rout of Volley Old Boys.

On the minus side, it was curtains for Mossley Hill Ath Res and Aintree Villa Res who came to grief at the hands of Parklands and Knowsley South respectively.
