A rampant fourth placed Marshalls, inspired by doubles from Eddie Hawthorne, Paddy Taylor and Shaun Smith romped home 7-1 against Capenhurst Villa who had Dom Hoppe in reply, while Maghull, with Jordan Holmes (2), Elliot Toner and Marcus Stewart on target, won 4-1 at Rainhill Town.

Pyke Cup specialists Redgate Rovers, who have lifted the trophy twice in the last three years, had Isaac Jones (2) on the mark and negotiated their 2nd round clash with Mossley Hill Ath. but had to rely on penalties following a 2-2 stalemate. 2016 winners South Liverpool, had no such problems and celebrated a 5-0 result over Newton, with efforts from Cam Dalton (2), Brad Williams, Stuart Cornfoot and Peter McShane.

Elsewhere, Heswall progressed to the last four after they won 3-1 at Mossley Hill Ath. Res.

Heswall's second string failed to emulate their seniors after they capitulated 2-0 to a double from Helsby's Lee Turkington in the West Cheshire Shield 2nd round. Stewy Jackson's superb hat trick saw Poulton Vics go through to the last four, after they overcame unbeaten Division Three leaders, Bootle St.Edmunds 4-1 and it was celebration time for Rainford Utd. who won 3-1 against Willaston. James Harris, Alex Grisedale and Mike Smith were the marksmen.

Two goal El Beshri took the plaudits and was joined on the scoresheet by Jordan Martin, Ben Short and Alex Northover as Marine Res. blitzed Capenhurst Villa Res. 5-0.

A smart double from Jack Kelly anchored Vauxhall Motors U18's to a 3-1 result over Marshalls U17's in the Youth plate 2nd round. Lower Breck U18's and Heswall U17's also progressed after they ousted Poulton Vics U18's and Victoria Colts respectively.
