GREAT Float Sports & Social stormed to an emphatic 10-0 win in the quarter finals of the Cheshire County Football Association Sunday Challenge Cup over Tarvin FC.

They will be one of two representatives from the Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday Football Association in the semi-finals as last season's winners Dock (Mark Jones) AFC dipped out on penalties 3-2 to fellow Birkenhead side Bushell Grange Athletic after the tie had finished all square at 1-1.

Queens Park also fell in the last eight, losing to a surprising 4-0 deficit.

Division Four leaders Higher Bebington JFC claimed a place in the third round of The Wirral District Football Association Sunday Junior Cup round three after a narrow 3-2 win at fellow division rivals Silva Athletic.

Josh McKinney, Matthew Toner and Joel Whalley scored the all important goals. 

Domestic cup action saw Upton Town make progress in The Tony Houlihan League Memorial Challenge Cup round one tie thanks to a brace from Alex Pitt, defeating Wellington FC (Rob Aston) 2-1 at after time.

Eastham Rangers Jets earned a place in round 3 with a narrow 5-4 victory at AFC Tima despite a fine hatrick from Tima's Steve Gately and a Rhys Varns effort. 

Rock Ferry Social took the honours after inflicting a 3-1 defeat on MSC Eastham (Mike Chessman) in another round two tie, finding the net for the Rock Ferry side were Callum Robinson with a double and a single from Kevin Walker. 

Paolos (Steve Rothwell, Gary Whelan, Anthony Rigby) served up another 3-1 victory over Victoria Colts (Adam Chwalko).

A solitary goal from Jason Bull was enough for Corsair FC in a derby cup tie in The David Keith Tacy round One tie at local rivals Eagle Stirrup FC 1-0.

Neston United (Kieran Gilbody) sufferered a rare defeat at the hands of Rivacre FC (Jamie Eaton, Jay Harvey, Alex Wilson, Jo Foster, Danny Cross) 5-1.

AFC Shaftes, despite their poor league form, notched a superb 4-0 success over Barcodes FC in a round two tie thanks to Kassim Jebrin, Lewis Trodden, Liam Massey-Bowen and Connor McIlroy. 

Premier Division action saw Lancelyn Glenavon (Ben Glover (2), Joe Wingfield, Nial Macklin, Joey Downey, Jamie Smith) secure their mid-table position after inflicting a 6-2 loss onto FC Bidston, Shaftesbury Youth inflicted a second defeat on Division One leaders Neston Nomads (Paul Ellison, Stephen Chappell, Nick Lynch).

Shaftesbury continue to climb up the table thanks to Alan Cross, John Wellman, Lewis McKnight and Carl Clampett with that splendid 4-3 scoreline. 

Telegraph FC (Mark Goodacre 2, Ryan Slate, Daniel Kendall) posted a strong 4-1 result at Ellesmere Port Athletic (John Wainwright).

A brilliant treble from Iain Colligan supported by Jack Bradley, Matt Holt, Rob Wood and Nathan Lewis were more than enough for FC Tranmere with a superb 7-0 romp at Oval FC in Division Two.

A brilliant double from debutant Charlie Chatterton for Rangers Breaks earned maximum points with a 2-1 result over Glenavon Athletic (Callum France) in Division Three.
