Lewis Trodden, Michael Ballard and a 25-yard screamer from Jack Bell gave AFC Shaftes a fine 3-1 win in The David Tacy cup first round tie at Glenavon Athletic.

Premier Division action saw a slight shock result with Heygarth FC finding themselves on the end of 3-2 reversal after leading 2-0 from Lloyd Ithell and Khalid Haswasi.

On the mark for Lancelyn Glenavon were Gino King with a penalty, Jay Beattie with the equaliser and Stephen Halewood with the winner.

The top of the table clash in the Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday Association Football League Division One saw Neston Nomads claim their seventh league win at the expense of Rivacre FC (Harry Ratcliffe) 2-1.

On the scoresheet for Neston were Jack Lloyd with a penalty and a Paul Ellison effort.

Beechwood FC moved into second spot with Rivacre losing with a comfortable 5-1 success over Ellesmere Port Athletic (Chris Georgeson).

Finding the net for Beechwood FC were Mitchell Duggan, Scott Billington, Morgan Woods, Owen McMahon and Sam Donaldson.
