THREE time champions South Liverpool increased their advantage at the top of the West Cheshire League's First Division to four points after hat tricks from Alex Woodcock and Mason Nevitt inspired them to a 9-2 result over Chester Nomads.

Further efforts from Cam Dalton, Stuart Cornfoot and Brad Williams completed the scoring with Charlie Mann (2) replying for the visitors.

Heswall's tenure as Division Two leaders lasted just one week, after they were dislodged by unbeaten nearest rivals, Prescot Cables Reserves, who had Matty Scoular, John Morgan and Brad Parry on target in a 3-1 triumph.

Four-goal Ricci Neil stole the show, as West Kirby beat Rainhill Town Res 5-1 and despite the heroics of goalkeeper Mick McStein, Adele Mohammed also struck four times as Mallaby capitulated 7-0 to Mossley Hill Reserves.

A Louis Fox effort, allied to a penalty from John Pomfrett were enough, as Poulton Royal eclipsed Maghull Reserves 2-1, while Liam Van Gelder (2), Mark Barnes and Connor Stockwell found the net as South Sefton Borough accounted for South Liverpool Reserves 4-2.

In Division Three, Poulton Vics maintained their drive for promotion, when goals from Latham Forrester (2), Stuart Jackson and Danny Murphy anchored them to a 4-1 decision over Bootle Res. who had Salam Djabi in reply.

Doubles from Ollie Price and Matty Walsh were supplemented by further efforts from Alex Parry, Alex Clarke and Corey Mountford, as Heswall U17s romped home 7-2 against Bootle U18's in the Youth Division.

Shay Roberts and Adam Larway netted for Victoria Colts but it was Litherland Remyca U18s who profited, Joe Swift, James Healey and Kyle Wallworth replying to seal a 3-2 win.

Pyke Cup specialists Redgate Rovers beat Neston Nomads 3-0 in Saturday's first round tussle, courtesy of a goal apiece from James Windsor, Jordan Dilworth and Dan Abdous.

Following a 2-2 stalemate, Mossley Hill Athletic pogressed after they ousted Rainhill Town 7-6 on penalties.

Lee Guiardo and Nathan Mapletoft made the scoresheet, as Chester Nomads savoured a 2-0 verdict over Marshalls while a Ross McDowell hat trick and a goal from Ryan Began sealed the deal, as Newton eliminated Maghull, following a 4-3 thriller.

Jordan Holmes (2) and Darren Brannigan netted the hosts' consolations.

The South Wirral derby between Vauxhall Motors Reserves and Capenhurst Villa was settled 2-1 in the Motormen's favour, thanks to goals from Joe Foster and Louis Gorman.

Saturday's Haworth & Gallagher first round ties saw Division Two promotion rivals, Aintree Villa and Mersey Royal lock horns at the Racecourse and it was Villa who took the honours, Josh Cavanagh, Mark Kelly and Ben Hamlet obliging in a 3-0 sucess.

Respective scorers in Ashville Res' 2-2 stalemate with Cheshire Lines, were Leon Jones (2), Andy Dickson and Nathan Midghall, before Ashville won 4-3 on penalties.

Top scorers in the West Cheshire Shield first round were Willaston, Sean Lunt (3), Connor Hughes, Jack Werner and Kearan Button-Forshaw scoring in the 6-0 win at Neston Nomads Reserves.

Mark Madden was a two-goal star who shone for Bootle St Edmunds in their 4-0 victory over Chester Nomads Reserves and Jack Darlington followed suit, with both goals, as Heswall Res beat West Kirby Res 2-1.
