DESPITE the forecast for heavy rainfall from Thursday to the weekend, Wirral Council did not put a blanket closure on grounds and so some games did take place.
Recording their first victory of the season in the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second division was Upton Youth, as they inflicted a first defeat on Shore Villa with a 3-2 success as goals from Brendan Doherty, Luke Summers and Scott Jones secured the points.
Shay Mullen netted both goals for Villa in an even affair.
Action from the Wirral DFA Junior cup second round saw Delta Colts Parkfield surprise previously unbeaten Rockpoint FC, as they edged home with a 2-1 result thanks to goals from Harry Williams and Leon Atkins, with Stu Hardman bagging the lone response.
Despite goals from Owen Pulford and Connor Jackson, Wallasey Wanderers lost 3-2 versus Vineyard who had Tom Mole, Francis Tolman and Mike Sprott as their marksmen in this hard-earned win.
A two-goal salvo from George Davies was not enough for West Kirby United as they lost to Peninsula Stars 3-2 in the Wirral DFA Youth cup.
All other fixtures were postponed.
November fixtures have been compiled but due to WDFA cup commitments some may have to be altered to accommodate and this will be done on a weekly basis.
