YET another weather affected weekend resulted in most fixtures being cancelled due to waterlogged pitches, but Wallasey Wanderers climbed the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second division into second place after a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Upton Youth.
Victory was thanks to singles from Declan Netherton, Connor Jackson and Ollie Lowe.
Bagging the responses were Josh Smith and Joe McColgan in a battling performance.
The only fixture in the No 4 Pacific Road Bistro First division saw Bromborough Town douse Phoenix FC in a 4-0 success to move them into third place on goal difference.
Jack Cooke was a hat-trick hero in this excellent team effort with Rodrigo Pacheco completing the scoring.
