ONLY seven games survived the heavy pitches due to the rain for teams in The Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday Association Football League.

The most notable game was FC Bidston in the outstanding tie in The Cheshire County Football Association Sunday Cup that FC Bidston ran out a 3-0 victory against Dolphin Inn, thanks to an own goal and strikes from Jamie Scarisbrick and Derek Taylor.

A brace from Lloyd Smith and further efforts from Mark Tolcher and Ryan Pomphrett was just enough for Telegraph FC to seal a place in second Round of the Tony Houlhan League Memorial Challenge Cup after inflicting a 4-3 defeat on Higher Bebington JFC (Matty Toner, Josh McKinney 2).

Paolos served up another fine goal haul at the expense of Wirral FC.

Delvering the goals for Paolos were Callum Darby, Michael Dixon, Anthony Rigby and a four-goal haul from Steve Rothwell.

Victoria Colts (Gaz Dickenson 2, Adam Chwalko, Ryan Cole 2) sealed a comfortable 5-1 win at Glenavon Athletic (Bailey Onwuemene) League action saw the game of the day with third v second in the Premier Division.

Queens Park (Stewart Jackson, Mikey Burkey) traded goals and points with Heygarth FC (Ki Hughes, Tom Morgan). 

It was a great result for Dock AFC with neither team claimimg maximum points to close the gap.

A fine Ben Glover hatrick for Lancelyn Glenavon earned all three points to help in their aim to steer cleer of the lower echelons of the division.

Eastham Rangers Jets accounted for MSC Eastham (Brandon Thomas) 7-1 in a local derby encounter in Division Three.

A quick look at the fixtures over the next four weeks will see Queens Park play Docks AFC in three different competitions starting a National Football Association Sunday Cup at Vauxhall FC with a 2pm kick off.

The Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday Association Football League are recruiting Youth Teams for the season 2020-2021 to bring back the Youth Division.
