But it was a tale of woe for third-placed local rivals Upton AA, who had Lee Guiardo on target, but capitulated 3-1 to replies from Redgate Rovers' Robbie McDonald, Jacob Jones and Jordan Dilworth.

Second-placed Mossley Hill Athletic spurned the opportunity to occupy top spot, after they were held to a 1-1 draw with Maghull, Paul Peasron obliged for Mossley with Ellliot Toner on target for the hosts.

Saturday's Youth Division action saw Vauxhall Motors run riot at Marshalls Barkhill, where Dylan Jeffery(3) Jack Kelly(2) Ryan Hughes (2) and Flynn Kaye shared the goals in an 8-0 triumph and maintained Motors' hundred percent record.
