THE last cup final of yet another hectic season looked to be going in favour of the underdog as PLCCFC scored just before the break to take a 1-0 lead in the Magee Cup Final against Poulton Vic's.

A very even first half saw chances go begging for both teams, but minutes before the interval captain George Craven put the cricketers ahead with a good goal.

The second period was again evenly contested before an own goal levelled matters, before a penalty award provided the Vic’s with the chance to take the lead and they did just as Jack Ledsham blasted home from the spot.

Now in the ascendancy the Vic's surged forward but only secured the game in the final minutes as their man of the match Joe McGhee fired home to ensure a 3-1 victory over a gallant PLCCFC team, who had Lewis Moynes as their man of the match.

Both teams put on a great game which was well marshalled by the officials and the League Management Committee would like to thank everyone involved for an entertaining fixture.

Two fixtures will take place next Sunday and both will decide titles in the First Division and the Dundee Youth Division, as yet another season goes right to the wire and LMC pay tribute to all the teams and match officials who have participated in yet another exhausting campaign.
