THE Dutchman Cup Final, held at Kirklands the home of Cammell Laird 1907, saw a wind-affected fixture between Barnston PV and Eastham Rangers Colts and was won by the slenderest of margins.

A very even affair saw the only goal scored in the first half as Dillon Thomas netted a superb solo effort for the Colts and he secured the man of the match for his team due to his tireless display.

Chances were created and wasted by both sides but the Colts defended well to prevent an equaliser, despite Barnston's man-of-the-match Reece Orton urging his team on at every opportunity.

Congratulations go to Graham McGreal for securing a trophy in his first season in open age football and well done also to Barnston for reaching a final in their inaugural season.

The race for the First division title continued as leaders Poulton Vics stumped the ambitions of PLCCFC when winning 3-0 courtesy of goals from Jack Ledsham (2) and Danny Bancale.

Only two points behind are Nelson FC who saw off the challenge of Liver View in a 5-0 success.

Upton FC continued their run of form when defeating Queens Liscard 5-2, as Jamie Battle (2), Kieran Thompson, Zac Woods and Ryan Thompson got on the score sheet.

Only one fixture in the Second division saw Vineyard close the gap on second-placed trident as they won 2-1 with goals from Franny Tomlin and Kyle Sloan, with Dom Punchard bagging the lone response.

ACA Sports put the bite on a depleted Young Lions team as they won their Grove Youth division battle 13-0 thanks to Ewan Ralph (4), Simon Grace (2), Owen Donnelly (2), Fin Sherlock (2), Joe Carrada (2) and Herbie White netting the goals against the eight-man opposition.
