2017 winners Redgate Rovers progressed to their second West Cheshire League Pyke Cup final in three years, following a narrow 2-1 victory over Maghull and they'll now face South Wirral outfit Ellesmere Port Town in what promises to be a closely-contested showdown.

Efforts from Tom Bunclark and Jacob Jones assured Redgate of their passage, with Tom Wharton in reply for Maghull.

On the League scene Newton went four points clear at the top of Division One with a game in hand, after they eclipsed basement side West Kirby 5-1, inspired by a Ryan Beigan hat trick.

Jack Ledsham gave Mallaby the lead from the penalty spot, after 26 mins which the hosts defended for 70 minutes, before Rainhill Town Res. triumphed 3-1, with goals from Lloyd Roberts, Jack West and a 90th minute strike from Chris Raynard.

A Tyler Davies effort and an own goal were enough as West Kirby Res. savoured a 2-1 decision over Litherland Remyca Dev. Peter Silcock scored Litherland's consolation.

Saturday's Division Three action saw leaders, Aintree Villa, open up a three point lead at the top, after a goal from Chester Nomads Res.' Dan Brownlee was wiped out by replies from Stephen Andrews and Anthony Seddon. Neston Nomads Res. won bragging rights against local rivals, Heswall Res., when Paul Ellison, Callum Blondel, Trevor Worsley and Nick Evans netted in a 4-3 victory.

Dylan Jeffrey, Max Herbert, Frankie Ward, Richard Coulthard and Richard Proudman hit the target as Vauxhall Motors U18 won 5-0 at Bootle Academy in their Youth Division Jimmy Brain Youth Plate 2nd round clash.
