IN not the most friendly of conditions Tixall's Mick Andrews had yet another win in Sunday's Bowls Flyers Tournament in Birkenhead Park.

He beat Hawksbury's Paul Roberts in a great final.

On his way to the final, Andrews was too good for Lever's Colin Portis in the quarter final and then had another fairly comfortable win over the previous week's winner, Hoylake Central's Tommy Walker, in the semis.

Roberts had earlier beaten Peter McGhee who plays for Cammell Lairds and then got the better of Ledsham Royal's Adam Hormbrey, who had had a good run to reach the semi final.

Andrews and Roberts then had a tremendous final match, both choosing to go corner to corner, but it was Andrews who inched ahead at the end to take his second win since the New Year and move himself up to second in the points table.
