RAINHILL Town achieved top spot in the West Cheshire League's Division One title race after they pulled off a superb 2-1 result at fourth placed Mossley Hill Ath and registered their tenth win of the season.

Efforts from Alex McMillan and Craig Jones saw the visitors over the line with Luca Winterton on target for Mossley.

Nathan Saunders found the net for Neston Nomads, but it was Wallasey outfit, Ashville, who profited after goals from Liam Davies, Archie Molyneux and Ricci Neil secured a welcome 3-1 victory, and in the Chester derby, it was Upton AA who took the bragging rights when Joe Melia and Nathan Mapletoft obliged in the 2-1 eclipse of Chester Nomads, who hit back via Jordan Churchill.

Long-suffering Marshalls picked up three valuable points in their bid to avoid the drop, thanks to an 8-1 rout of Redgate Rovers.

Josh Dark led the charge with a five goal haul, while Owen Hough, Adam Moorcroft and Cameron Chalinor also made the score sheet with Craig Blackwell in reply for the visitors.

Relegation-threatened Maghull Res suffered another blow in their Division Two clash with Litherland Remyca Dev, who posted a 6-0 triumph, highlighted by a hat trick from James Hughes.

Division Three's sole fixture saw Capenhurst Villa Res. emerge 6-4 victors against equally determined Wirral SB Res.

Saturday's Youth Division action saw current leaders, Bootle U18 ease their way to a 4-0 triumph over Bootle Academy courtesy of goals from ace marksman, Cameron Grant (3) who took his tally for the season to 28, and Liam Keenan.

Elsewhere, Joe Duffy was another hat trick hero who shone in MarshallsU18's 5-1 blitz of Maghull U18. Steve Tearle and Francis Lloyd also netted for the winners, Charlie Taylor replying for Maghull.
