CAPITOL Cup second round action saw 34 goals scored in the four games with eleven being netted in the 6-5 victory for Eastham Rangers as they beat Queens Liscard.

The lead changed many times in this end to end fixture as Martin Marshall (2), Alfie Hawkins (2), Liam Harris and Ryan Hodgson netted for Rangers, with the replies coming from Steve Wilson (2), Alex Martin, Alex Broadbent and James Broadbent.

Ten goals came in the Halfway House versus JASGA PV game which ended 5-5 after ninety minutes of frenetic football, with Halfway going all the way in the penalty shoot-out to win 4-2 from the spot.

Finding the net for Halfway in normal time were Joe Skinner (2), Zach Smyth (2) and Josh Robertson; hitting the responses were Mike New with two penalties, Anthony Gibbons with another brace and Darren Pritchard.

A hat-trick for Anton Jolley allied to singles from George Craven and Adam McComb saw PLCCFC bowl over Vineyard in a 5-2 success and Poulton Vics also netted five times as they beat Upton FC 5-1. On target for Vics were Jamie Payne-2, Karl Barker, Jack Ledsham and Tom Quest.

The rearranged Dutchman Cup 1st round fixture ended in stalemate as Trident and North Wirral Saints fought out a 0-0 draw, but Saints proved better penalty takers as they won the shoot-out 4-3.

Only one fixture took place in the second division, resulting in a 3-1 away success for Barnston PV against Runcorn Select and lifted them off the foot of the table.

This first win was achieved due to Ricardo Royes netting a fine treble as he continued his scoring streak and the lone marksman for Runcorn was Mike Ratcliffe.

The scheduled special general meeting will start at noon on Sunday.

All member clubs must attend.
