SHAUN Skillen led the way with a brace for last season’s finalists Barcodes in an emphatic 6-0 win in the Jimmy Core Trophy over AFC Tima in The Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday Football League.

Completing the scoring were Luke Male, John Allen, Dave Randall and an own goal.

They will be joined in the hat for the next round with FC Tranmere who put their success down to a superb hatrick from Adam Walker, with further efforts from Mike Dunn & Josh Williams beating Victoria Colts (Adam Chwalko, Matty Kirby) 5-2.

A superb four-timer from Ben Glover for Lancelyn Glenavon was enough to sink the hopes of New Ferry Rangers (Jerry Canady) 4-1 in the President's Cup and claim their spot in the quarter finals.

Dock AFC had Matty Carlin to thank with a double and a strike from Ryan Smith in the Veronica Conway Premier Cup to inflict a narrow 3-2 defeat on Premier Division leaders Heygarth FC (Kieran Hughes, Tom Charters).

FC Bidston (Dega Taylor, Paul Wallace and Vinnie O’Toole) triumphed 3-2 at Birch Tree (Mathew Easterbrook, Kieran Hamm), while on the mark for Saughall were Craig Spence and Dave Ollerhead over Great Float Sports & Social to claim a semi final slot.

Corsair progressed to the quarter finals of the Tony Smith Memorial Cup, thanks to Jason Bull who bagged a pair and further strikes from James Bayley and Ian Duckworth after seeing off the challenge of Franklyn FC 4-1.

Lions FC (Ricky Harrison, Steve Dutton pen, Matty Kerr, Samir Al Gamri) continued their impressive early season form with a terrific win a local derby game at AFC Shaftes (J Smith, A Weston & R Griffiths) 4-3.

In Division One, Neston Nomads inflicted a 4-1 defeat on promotion hopefuls Bushell Athletic (Leon Jones), thanks to two strikes from Paul Ellison and singles from Jamie Gardner and a screamer from Lewis Clarke. 

Division Two action saw South Rangers claim top spot after an emphatic 6-1 result over FC Vaults (Jordan McAteer), who had Ben Ryan leading the way with a superb five-goal salvo supplemented by a Chris strike, Beechwood FC (Rob Courtenay, Scott Billington, Willy Jones) registered a 3-0 success over Wirral FC and are joined on 10 points with CAD Athletic (Alan Sutton, Luke Wynn, David Fletcher) who saw off the challenge from Stirrup Sports & Social (John Duddy, Chris Griffiths) along with two clubs.

Goals galore in Division Three, with Paolos sitting on top of the division after Leon Bower (3), Callum Darby, Paul Johnstone (2) and an og registering with a superb 7-5 scoreline while in second place only by goal difference is Woodchurch Rovers, who accounted for MSC Eastham (Keith O’Toole, Ryan Innes & Laurence Whelan).
