SHAFTESBURY Youth Club opened up a two-point lead over Sutton Athletic at the top of the Queensferry Sports Premier Division after a convincing 5-2 victory over Ellesmere Port.

Goals from Danny Smith (2), Danny Whitehead (2) and Lee Griffiths ensured that three points were going to the Shafts whilst Richie Feightman scored twice for the Port.

Sutton Athletic had a narrow 2-1 win over Cestrian Alex.

In a very lacklustre game strikes from Liam Brennan and Callum Doyle was enough for the victory. Tom Richardson scored a consolation goal for Cestrian Alex.

Adam Collins was the five-goal hero in Helsby’s 7-0 emphatic victory over Blacon Youth Reserves.

Ryan Gibson ensured a miserable day for the Blacon team with two further goals for Helsby.

Upton JFC continue to keep chasing the league leaders with a convincing 3-1 win over Higher Bebington Kelma.

In the CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship, despite trailing by two goals to Hoole Rovers, a great second-half display by Princes Villa JFC resulted in a 4-2 victory and the Villa are joint top of the Division with Rossmore Rangers.

Callum Glover (2) and goals from Charlie Jones and Mitch Glover completed the comeback for Princes Villa.

Rossmore Rangers dropped two vital points in a shared eight-goal thriller at Seymour Park against Crossway.

The Rangers were trailing 3-1 but made a dramatic comeback to earn a 4-4 draw. Crossway scorers were Greg Campbell (2) and Matt Leedham (2).

Helsby Reserves continue to climb the Championship table with a 3-1 away victory at Chester Nomads IIIs.

Although Nomads Ryan Jones got on the score sheet it was not enough as goals from Jack White, Ryan Bazley and Jay Boulton made it a comfortable 3-1 win for Helsby.

A George Gregory goal was enough for FC Duddon United to claim the three points against Christleton Argyle.

Elton Athletic enjoyed their first league victory of the season with a 2-0 win over Eastham Ferry.

Top goal scorers of the day were Groves Athletic with an 11-0 victory over AFC Park north CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division East Farndon FC Vets and Tarvin Athletic AFC Vets both continue to sit at the top of the Vets Division (East) table.

Farndon had a 3-0 away win at Upton JFC Vets with Dave Brereton, Phil Reeves and Riad Erraji the goal scorers, whilst Tarvin came away from Nags Head Bunbury with a convincing 5-0 victory Crossway Vets enjoyed a seven-goal scoring spree on Saturday against Frodsham Park JFC Vets.

The scorers were Ian Crawford (2), Paul Molyneux (2), Ste Gore, Bal Darnoi and Tom Wimpenny.

Ashton Vets played their first game of the season and were 5-1 winners against Dee Rangers Vets.

Goals from Astbury (2), Wilson, Sinclair and Mackie ensured all three points went to Ashton.
