THERE were mixed fortunes for teams from The Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday Football League in The Cheshire County Football Association Sunday Cup First Round.

A fine double from Owen Kelsey and an effort from Jamie Farrell sealed a narrow 2-1 win at AFC Stockport for Saughall FC.

In an all-Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday League clash Lancelyn Glenavon had a narrow 1-0 over Neston Nomads, while Birch Tree dipped 0-3 to Cheadle Town under 21s and Rock Ferry Social succumbed to 9-3 deficit at Sale United U21s and New Ferry Rangers were defeated 4-3 at P&C Joinery.

Domestic League action in the Premier Division saw Heygarth FC inflict a second defeat of the season on Dock AFC (Paul Byrne, Dean Nunn, Danny Dixon). 

On the mark for Heygarth were Kieran Hughes (2), Steven Forbes and Lloyd Ithell, who now move into second spot.

Hot on their heels is Queens Park FC (Danny Brookes, Danny Kelly and Craig Griffiths) who sunk Great Float Sports & Social 3-1.

Shaftesbury Youth took the honours in a local derby in Division One running out a 2-1 victory at AFC Shaftes.

Finding the net for Shaftesbury Youth were Karlin Fleckner and Sam Upton who move into pole position with an unbeaten record.

Ellesmere Port Athletic (John Britton (2) and Paul Parsonage) broke their duck with a well-earned point in a 3-3 draw at Bushell Athletic.

Telegraph posted their first maximum haul of points hanks to a hat-trick from Daniel Kendall and supported by a Gary Winders strike over Lions FC who replied via Matty Kerr with two goals, Franklyn FC (Alex Wilson (2), Zack Dooley and Andy Halfhead) finally got there season under way in Division Two and registered a splendid 4-3 win against CAD Athletic. 

Stirrup Sports & Social won by the odd goal in seven (7) with strikes from Kevin Woods, Jonathon Roberts, James Becall and Robby Deer.

Despite a brace from John Skipsy and an effort from Jay Moore For Oval FC, Corsair FC romped home to an 11-goal win with a splendid four-timer from Jason Bull, treble from Ian Duckworth, a brace from Paul Ryan and supplemented by Sam Saunders and Brad Greer to keep their top spot position.

South Rangers Athletic (Ben Ryan, Bedel-Zan-Bi, Sam Adams) firmed up second-place with a comfortable 3-0 success at Upton Town.

Paolos FC had an impressive win at AFC Tima with Paul Johnstone, Callum Derby (2), Leon Bower (2) Sam Cross and an own goal registering in a 7-1 win.

In Division Three, single strikes from Tom Briggs and Callum Whitby earned maximum points for Woodchurch Rovers over Ship Inn Hoylake with a 2-0 result.

FC Tranmere shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw with Rangers Breaks (Lewis Stanley) who are still undefeated, while an eight-goal Thriller between MSC Eastham (Laurence Whelan (2), Harry Brassey, Joe Smith also had a to share the points with Barcode FC (Kieran Doherty (2), Shaun Skillen 2) in a 4-4 draw.
