THE youth section's league fixtures have started.

New boys New Ferry Rangers opened their account in the Dundee Youth division as they flew past Eastham Rangers Jets with a 7-2 score line.

Bagging a hat-trick was Kieran Blessing and all notching singles were Jack Ward, Joseph Roberts, Louis Haddock and David Thomas.

Netting in reply were Alfie Hunt and Adrian Zak.

A goal apiece from Alex Lamb and Leighton Clark gave Glenavon Athletic an opening day 2-0 success over Wallasey Wanderers and despite a Simon Lunn goal Park Royal went down 2-1 versus Groves FC who had Liam Sparks and Joe Whittle on target.

The only downside to the youth section was the resignation of Neston Nomads days before the season began due to a lack of players and club problems.

In the Grove Youth division Delta Colts Parkfield began their campaign with a 5-3 verdict over Young Lions thanks to Frank Ward (2), Tom Kennedy (2) and Lewis Ward hitting the target and firing the responses were Ben Williams, Callum Hassle and Liam Owen in an end to end encounter.

AC Hoylake had Loui Fox as their two-goal hero when beating Phoenix the Flames 2-1 as Chris Nixon bagged the lone reply.

A Josh McKinney brace allied to a single from Lewis Simpson gave Higher Beb JFC a 3-1 success over Groves Rovers whose lone scorer was Ryan Hughes and singles from Joel Hunter and Brendan Doherty enabled Upton Youth to beat ACA Sports 2-1.

First division action saw the top two teams fight out a 1-1 draw as Nelson FC went ahead in the first half through Ben Dunn but a last-minute equaliser from Darren Pritchard gave JASGA PV a share of the spoils.

Liver View threw a two nil lead away as PLCCFC fought back to claim a late 3-2 victory thanks to a double from Sean Woods and a single from Matty Hollis, with Adam Chadwick and Simon Walker replying.

On target for Vineyard in their 4-1 success against Eastham Rangers Colts were Alex Moody, Kyle Sloan, Rhys Howell and Connor Westery to keep them third.
