Vauxhall Motors . . . . . .3
Alfreton Town . . . . . . . 2FORMER Manchester City youngster Paul Taylor continues to excite Vauxhall supporters in the Blue Square League North Division.
The striker struck another two fine goals on Saturday to raise his tally for the season to six in as many games, though he owes a huge thanks on this occasion to teammate Lee Furlong, who set up both of his goals and netted himself from the penalty spot, after Taylor was adjudged to be impeded in the area.
Motors had struck first on nine minutes, when Taylor's speed seriously embarrassed the visitors goalkeeper Green, as he raced on to a long pass from Furlong. Other chances went begging before Alfreton struck back strongly to lead 2-1 at half-time.
The controversial penalty arrived 10 minutes after the interval to level the scores and on 64 minutes, Furlong played in Taylor, who deftly lobbed the out-rushing Green for the ultimate winner and three much-needed points.
On Saturday, Motors make the difficult trip to unbeaten Harrogate Town (kick-off 3pm).
