IN the Chester & Wirral Football League's Olympic Trophies Championship Groves Athletic made it two wins from two with a fine 6-1 win over FC Duddon.

Jack Sailes, Joe Fitzpatrick, Kieran Edge, Tom Anderson, George Patchett and Liam James all made the score sheet to mark a fine team performance with Ben Thorp replying for Duddon.

Orange Athletic had Stu Drury, Tom Wilkinson, Oliver Ormrod and Elliot Wright to thank for their goals in a 4-2 win over Christleton Argyle, Charlie Jones (2).

Billy Mann netted twice for Chester Nomads III as they beat Princes Villa 2-1.

Helsby Reserves, Danny Hulse and Ryan Bazley, notched their first point of the season with a 2-2 draw at home to Eastham Ferry, O-G and Lewis Stephenson.

St Saviours made it a hat-trick of wins with a 3-2 win over local rivals Ellesmere Port with goals coming from Liam Wall, Luke Edwards and Mark Lowe.

Liam Smith and Mike Parnell replied for the Port. Christleton FC, Robbie Joinson and Jake Dean, drew 2-2 with Shaftesbury Youth, Jimmy Gomez and Lee Griffiths. Lewis Davenport, Marc Moorefield and a last minute winner from Liam Bradley secured all three points for Newton Athletic in their 3-2 win over Sutton Athletic while in the Chester derby Upton JFC ran out 5-2 winners over Cestrian Alex thanks to goals from Joe Williams (2), Danny Evans (2) and Tom Berry. Tom Richardson and Josh Carney notched for Cestrian.

On Saturday Newton Athletic were in seventh heaven after their 7-1 win over Blacon Youth reserves saw them move to the summit of the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division.

Newton's scorers were Dan Eaton with three, Marc Moorefield (2), Dan Christianson and Sam Morgan.

Lewis Coppack hit Blacon's consolation.

Martin Fitzsimmons hit a hat-trick for FC Duddon in a 3-1 win over Rossmore Rangers, (Terry Watts).

Helsby Reserves (Sheau Balogun, Kieran Butterworth and Mike Whitehead) drew 3-3 with Christleton Argyle, Charlie Jones (2) and Jordan Davies).

Hoole Rangers are now second after their 4-1 win over Chester Nomads III.

Alex Hutchinson lead the scoring with a brace followed by Adam Hughes and Josh Owens with a 25-yard screamer. Jordan Jones replied for Nomads.
