THE curtains have finally came down after a very long season in The Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday Football League, partly due to the weather.

One of the League's most successful clubs is Birch Tree FC, who secured the division one title with an emphatic 8-6 result, thanks to a superb five-goal salvo from Kieran Hamm supported by a splendid hat-trick from Stewy Hardman against third-placed AFC Houlihan.

Two days later, Birch Tree FC defeated close rivals and runners up PSV Athletic 2-1 with Kieran Hamm on target again with Matty Smith also on the scoresheet.

Birch Tree completed the division one title and Presidents Cup double.

They then made it a great treble with the Wirral District Football Association Sunday Amateur Cup.

It is the 19th time this domestic double has been completed.

In their final game Kieran Hamm was on the mark again with a brace in a comfortable 4-0 win over basement club Lions FC.

Jason McLaughlin and Stewy Hardman also on the scoresheet completed the scoring.

The division two title went down to the wire with Telegraph sitting in pole position having finished their games and a point ahead of both Ellesmere Port Athletic and New Ferry Rangers, who both required to earn all three points.

It was the Ellesmere Port team that took the honours with all-mportant strikes coming from John Britton and Tom Boulton to take the Crown in a 2-0 success.

The Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday Football League is now accepting new applications to join for the 2018/2019 season.
