AFTER two cup games in three days Birch Tree reached the Final of The Presidents Cup defeating close rivals Millhouse 2-0, with Kieran Hamm and Stewey Hardman on target, in midweek.

On Sunday a close encounter with AFC Houlihan's (Mikey Purnell, Vinny O’Toole) 3-2, on the mark this time were Liam Rose with a brace and Sean Philips.

Match of the day in the Premier Division saw Dock (Danny Dixon (2), Dean Nunn and Greg Drummond) register maximum points in a 4-3 spectacular with one of the clubs that was in the hunt for the prestigious Premier Division Title.

It is now down to a two horse race with Dock only needing a single point, close on their heels are Queens Park (Stuart Jackson, Adam Smith) who sunk Great Float Social 2-0, while West Kirby Social (Jack Darlington (2), Christian Lewis, Rob Horgan) accounted for Heygarth FC (Laurence Edwards, Lloyd Ithell, Steven Forbes 4-3.

Division One action saw Bushell Athletic record a 6-2 success over Shaftesbury Youth to stay in the hunt for promotion with many clubs including Lancelyn Glenavon who beat Lions FC thanks to a solitary strike from Harry Ashcroft, PSV Athletic had Alex Fewtrall on the scoresheet with a double salvo supported by strikes from Shane Hooker and Matt Drew who also stay in the mix as there are plenty of league games to play still.

Division Two leaders Telegraph (Anthony Daniels) lost for a second consecutive game this time 2-1 at Bogan’s Carpets FC, Poulton Victoria Youth posted two fine wins 5-3 in midweek over Bogan's Carpets and 4-2 with FC Vaults to move into second place with Jason Bull leading the way with a hatrick supported by a Sam Saunders strike.

The shock result in Division three saw a single goal from Sam Collingwood for Bierhaus FC defeat leaders Oval FC, two clubs also looking for promotion Wirral Radio (Liam Blundell, Tom Williams and Dave Robinson) and MSC Eastham (Laurence Whelan, Ryan Innes, Steven Gerard) shared the points in a 3-3 draw, basement club Victoria Colts (Ryan and Kieran Coles, Gaz Dickinson) earned a vital win at Barcode FC 3-2.

Sunday, April 29, will see the David Tacy Cup final between Shaftesbury Youth and AFC Houlihan's at Kirklands the home of Cammell Laird FC 1907 with an 11am kick-off.

Thursday, May 3 will see the final of the Presidents Cup with a 7pm kick-off at the same venue.
