THE First division Cup Final took place at Cammell Lairds and saw six goals as Poulton Vics overcame their great rivals JASGA PV 4-2 in an end-to-end epic that saw Vics' man of the match Dan Banicale notch a double with Andy Beaver and Karl Barker adding the extras.

Hitting the responses were Daren Pritchard and Dave Finnigan who also collected their man of the match award.

An even first half saw the Vics 2-1 ahead but the second period saw them cruise into a 4-1 lead before a late fightback saw the arrears reduced.

Both teams meet again next week in a First division clash that will go along way into deciding the title.

Nelson FC maintained their First division title challenge when beating Wallasey Mens 6-1 as Callum Morrison and Jason Wilde netted two each and Steve Gill and Ben Dunn bagged singles to keep them in the hunt.

The consolation came from Connor Eccles. Liver View remain third after their 4-1 success over Queens Liscard whose lone scorer was Chris Smith.

Irby Youth went out after a 0-2 defeat against North Wirral Saints.

Halfway House kept up their pursuit of the Second division title following their 4-0 defeat of Stonegate, thanks to goals from Matty Snowden, Andy Simpson, Alex Ramsay and Joe Skinner.

Level with them are St Andrews United, who beat Shedz FC 3-2 in a tight game that saw Matt Bos bag a brace and Jack Kemp rifled a single, with Mike Scott claiming a double in reply.

Top of the Dundee Youth division by one point are FC Phoenix who rose to the challenge against Wirral SB and ran out 4-1 winners with goals from Zac Harbour, Ollie Lowe and Sean Harper (2).

Eastham Rangers Youth climbed the table due to a 5-2 victory over West Kirby Wasps (Jay Rimmer and Phil Sword) and Neston Nomads stay in the top four after their 4-1 defeat of Higher Beb JFC (Sean Hayes) thanks to a Jamie Eaton double and singles from Tom Brown and Joe Kaye.

Honours were shared in the Grove Youth division between Park Royal and Glenavon Athletic as they drew 2-2. On target for Royal were Oliver Backhouse and Simon Munn with Leyton Clark hitting a brace in reply.

A goal apiece from Steve Harrison and Rob Golightly earned Higher Beb U-17s a 2-0 success against West Kirby United Panthers and AC Hoylake won a nine-goal thriller versus Eastham Rangers Colts 5-4 as Harry Baldwin-Brown, Harry Deijnan, Joe Ellis and Ryan Wright neeted for Colts.

A double score victory for Allport Hawks saw them fly past Phoenix the Flames with a 13-0 win.
