CUP ties dominated fixtures for teams in The Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday Football League.

Goals came in abundance, with plenty of high scoring games.

Birch Tree caned PSV Athletic in the Wirral District Football Association Amateur Cup 5-1 to reach the final after Kieran Hamm hit a fine hat trick and efforts from Ryan Smith and Stewart Hardman also on the scoresheet.

Stirrup Sports & Social (J Roberts, P Hudson) dipped out in the Wirral Junior cup semi final 3-2 to Neston Nomads U21s.

Domestic Cup action saw Lee Ludgate, Jake Smith, Tommy Holmes and Chris Griffiths all find the net for Woodchurch United against Millhouse (Tom Quinn, Dean Fleming) in The Tony Houlihan Memorial Cup round 4 cup tie 4-2.

West Kirby also progressed 2-1, thanks to Kieran and Lewis Donoghue strikes to sink Swan FC A Liam Blundell brace and Ian Watkins did the damage to defeat Barcodes in the second Round of the David Tacy Cup.

In the third Round a great game that went into extra-time saw James Atherton notch a superb four goal salvo for AFC Houlihan's at Ellesmere Port Athletic (Tom Boulton, Nicky Monaghan and John Britton) 4-3.

Veronica Conway Cup 2nd round saw Heygarth move into the semi finals thanks to Dayne Murphy and Richie Freightman over luckless Shaftesbury (P Lennon).

Lancelyn Glenavon put their name into the hat for the semi finals of The Presidents Cup with a narrow 2-1 result at Shaftsbury Youth.

Poulton Vics Youth posted a 4-2 Scoreline with Sam Saunders, Jedda Bayley, Brads Greer and Jason Bull on the mark against FC Vaults (Jordan McAteer, OG) while Bogans Carpets (D Kelly 3) had the rug pulled by Bedford FC 5-3 in the Tony Smith Cup round one action. 

Rock Ferry Social put pressure on the top of the Premier Division Leaders with a convincing 5-0 win over Neston Nomads, thanks to evergreen Andy Robinson and supplemented by Richie Owens, Levi Wooley, Jason Renshawn and Hayden Cooper, while leaders Dock (Mark Jones, Dean Nunn) won by the odd goal in three 2-1 at Saughall (Owen Kelsey).

Dave Williams was the star man with two fine assists in Lions' cruising win 5-0 to earn valuable points at the wrong end of the table in Division One. 

On the mark were Terry Ainsworth and Steve Dutton with a brace each and a single strike from Mike McKay completing the scoring Division Two saw both games with the same 3-0 for both away teams Willows (Leon Jones Paul Greenwood Anthony Jolley) at South Rangers Athletic and Cad Athletic (Josh Jordan, Jordan Billsborough & Ben Evans) over New Ferry Rangers.

A top-of-the-table clash in Division Three saw second-place MSC Eastham (Keith O’Toole 2, Shaun Highland, John Skipsey and Craig Worthington) take maximum points over league leaders Oval FC (Ryan Innes).

A superb treble from Peter McNulty supported by a brace from Chris Carress for Ranger Breaks who are also hoping for promotion after putting pressure on the top two recording a 5-2 success with Victoria Colts.

Wirral Athletic (Tom Mulryan 3, Paul Cater 2 and John Berry) earned all three points from Oxton FC (Jack Bigley).

Bierhaus (Sam Collo, Lewis Dono, Cai Smith, Jake Jones) registered a 4-1 score at Higher Bebington RCM FC (Andy Taylor).

The Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday Football League is now accepting new applications to join for the 2018/2019 season.
