AS Vauxhall Motors begin the countdown to the new Blue Square North campaign, which starts this Saturday at home to Redditch United at Rivacre Park, the club have secured the immediate future of striker Paul Taylor on a contract.
Taylor, previously on Manchester City's books, was released by the Premiership club two years ago as a teenager and since then had lost his way.
But his electric performance for the Motormen at Rivacre Park against Chester City last week opened many eyes to his immense ability - and Vauxhall wasted no time in securing his services with a contract.
Taylor proved to be a real thorn in Chester's side as he struck the frame of the visitors' goal three times in the opening period and scored the best goal of the evening towards the end.
On Saturday, Vauxhall entertained a youthful Tranmere Rovers side at Rivacre Park. Rovers triumphed 3-0.
Now all eyes turn to Saturday's eagerly-awaited opener at home to Redditch (kick-off 3pm).
That is quickly followed by a trip to Hyde United on Monday (7.30pm).
