ONCE again the weather was the biggest winner for nearly all clubs in the league, only one game escaping the waterlogged pitches.
A late switch with the help of Vauxhalls enabled an important clash between Neston Nomads and Woodchurch United in The Premier Division with the South Wirral side running out 5-1 victors thanks to strikes from Dave Forbes (two, including one penalty), Jack Lloyd, Robb Marrs and Carl Diable.
A brief look ahead to next Sunday's games.
Weather permitting, the fixture programme will again be dominated by cup ties with no less than seven different cup competitions, most notably the Wirral Amateur Cup Semi final between PSV Athletic and Birch Tree at Levers Sports field.
Also taking place with Stirrup S&S hosting a semi-final in a Wirral District Football Association Junior Cup Semi Final.
In the domestic cup competitions ties will be played in The Tony Houlihan Memorial Challenge Cup, David Tacy Cup, Veronica Conway Premier Cup, Presidents Cup and The Tony Smith Memorial Cup.
The Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday Football League is now accepting new applications to join for the 2018/2019 season, please check the League’s website for contact details.
