VAUXHALL Motors manager Carl Macauley launched his A-team attack at Colwyn Bay on Saturday in their first pre-season outing and declared himself pleased with the result.
Motors had to be content with a 2-2 draw. They opened their account after four minutes, when promoted youth team player Andy Johnson set up co-striker Anthony Wright for a shot into the top corner.
Bay equalised early in the second-half, but Motors regained the lead when an inch-perfect cross from Tom Field was dispatched with the touch of a veteran by the young Johnson to crown an impressive senior debut.
The Welsh side levelled again nine minutes from the end.
This Saturday, Vauxhall entertain Chester City at Rivacre Park (3pm). Admission is £5 adults (£3 concessions).
Next Tuesday, Vauxhall travel to Formby as they continue their preparations for the Blue Square Conference North campaign.
