Nuneaton Borough . . . 1

Vauxhall Motors . . . . 1CARL Macauley's Vauxhall Motors rounded off their Nationwide Conference North campaign by once again displaying their resilience away from Rivacre Park.

The draw put a dent in Nuneaton's celebrations as they played their last-ever match at their long-time home of the Manor Ground in front of more than 2,000 fans.

The Motormen soon found themselves on the back foot after a delayed coach trip to the Midlands and fell behind after just four minutes. But the visitors gradually grew in confidence and duly levelled the scores on the half hour mark through Tom Field and could well have gone on to win the game in the second-half.

The draw confirmed Motors' position at the end of the season in 15th place with 51 points, six more than the best-placed relegated club. Plans now begin for the new Blue Square Northern campaign, which kicks off in early August.

Meanwhile, the club is to stage its first-ever car boot sale at Rivacre Park on Sunday, May 20 (10am). For more details of this event, contact Alan Bartlam on 639-3955 (evenings) or 702-7706 (business hours).
